What makes this world so special? Who is Kara? What inspired the whimsical soundtrack? The Dev Diary series explores all of that and more, featuring the people who spent over three years lovingly crafting every pixel of the game: the 5 Lives Studios dev team. This launch video kicks off a three-part Dev Diary video series. The Torment Bow's damage field will remain for a much longer time. Please accept statistics, marketing cookies to watch this video. It differs from the Tempest Bow as the chain lighting only lasts from the time upon contact and 3-4 seconds after. Both the intended target and any other monster that walks into the field will take damage. So be precise with every shot and always collect the arrows after defeating the enemy. It creates a large dome of energy around its target that deals damage over time. The Torment bow, much like the Tempest bow, has a shelf life and doesn't last forever. So explore everywhere and everything, procure enough food to survive the trips, and don't focus on collecting too many things early on as bag space is very limited. Exploring in Windbound is very important as rushing through the main objective can result in players missing out on a lot of important supplies making it difficult to survive later in the game. They can be found on large islands in the midst of many animals and beasts or on very tiny islands almost too obscure to notice. The ore that the Leviathan's gem comes from is black with a fiery red glow in and around it. Gems appear usually after chapter one and in the case of the Leviathan's gem, they will appear in chapter 3 as the size and number of islands increase alongside the number of beasts that are difficult to take down. Crafting tools require even more tools, so it's a good thing Kara's knife never breaks. Gems are obtained from erected rock structures in the ground, that require a pickaxe to break apart. The Torment Bow in Windbound is made from grass rope and a stick with one more special piece, The Leviathan's Gem. The torment bow is a much stronger weapon than an average bow, that deals some extra damage over time to anything unfortunate to be hit by an arrow. As nice as the world may look, it's anything but, each chapter will introduce more and more ravenous beasts. Bows are an excellent tool due to there ability to attack from a distance and maintain a safe route to get away from any monsters that may pursue. Players have a modest array of weapons and armor to craft for Kara in order to defend themselves against the many creatures that serve as supplies to continue the journey. Lost from her people, Kara explores island after the island, navigating turbulent waters and hostile environments. Windbound puts players in a humble yet expansive world full of life and nature where survival is a little fun.
